I'm not dead...yet.

Hey guys. So again I'm a terrible blogger... I have an excuse though. Lately it's been one thing after the other. First it was my depression, which is an ongoing issue but anyone with it knows that some days are worse than others...lately I've been having those 'worse' days a LOT. And then my eczema started acting up. I've never talked about it on here but I have this strange form of eczema that manifests itself as extreme dryness of the hands and feet, along with blister-like bumps that show up everywhere. I'm sure the fact that I've been stressed lately has greatly contributed to that. And today was the start of the semester for me.. It's just been a really shitty summer and I'm not in a happy place right now. Just wanted to keep you guys posted, if anyone actually reads my blog anymore. For those of you that do, I promise I will try to get back into the swing of things.. Thanks for reading. <3

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about everything that is going on. I also suffer from depression and sometimes it's hard to even get out of bed, so I hope things get better for you.
I have also had horrible eczema on my hands since I was about 10. I get horrible itchy red burning cuts all over my hands even when I don't scratch. No type of lotion or cream works. Not until my baby had red dry patches all over his legs and arms, that were clearly causing him pain, was I suggested vegetable shortening by his Dr since the steroid cream wasnt working too well.
I have used it all over his body and my hands. He suffered for months but now he is two and has baby smooth skin.
Directions were: whenever you wash your hands or get out of the shower pat dry (do not rub your hands dry) and within a minute make sure you put on the vegetable shortening on your hands to lock in the moisture since your hands are still a bit damp. It works like a charm. I use Sprectrum organic all vegetable shortening non hydrogenated. I got the 24 oz tub and that has lasted us about 9 months and I slather my sons entire body with it about 3 times a week. Hope that helps!

    1. Wow thanks SO much for all of this information. I'm so sorry that you and your son have to go through that. Eczema is such a pain. And thank you SO much for that remedy, I have to try it out. I'll let you know how it works for me. And I'm sorry that you suffer from depression too...it's definitely an ongoing battle. Thanks so much for everything, you don't know how much I appreciate it. <3

  3. I definitely understand. I suffer from both conditions as well. Lately, I've found that moisturizer with Retinol has helped clear up my eczema on my hand. I've been using Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer - Night. I know it sounds weird, but it's really helped! Hope you feel better. Xoxo
