Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? Swatches

Hey girlies. Of the few polishes from the Holland collection that I picked up, Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? was tied in first place for my favorite. I loved the idea of the red shimmer in the purple...it sounded very promising. It even looks great in pictures. Here, have a look:

Here, let's deceive you even more and add some more flash:

Doesn't that sparkle look great? It sure does! Too bad it doesn't show up much in real life...at all. It looks like I have a medium purple creme on. It actually looks like an old lady color, to be honest. I don't know. Maybe it's the shitty lighting in this hell hole but it doesn't look as good as it does in these pictures. And I'm not saying that I take great pictures. I'm saying that my shitty photo skills make this polish look better than it actually is, which is odd. This polish is like that girl that isn't really pretty in real life but looks gorgeous in pictures. It's a photogenic polish... eh. We'll see how I feel about this in the sunlight, if we get any tomorrow.

What do you think? Do you have this? Do you like it? Let me know, thanks for reading :]

Hey girlies. It's been a long long while since I did a Pink Wednesday and for that I am sorry. I was in the mood for some light, crisp pink polish and I saw OPI Mod About You and didn't think twice. I love it. Here I paired it with Princesses Rule! as an accent nail. Here you go:

What are you wearing for Pink Wednesday? Do you like this combo? Let me know, thanks for reading! :]

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes Swatch

Hey girlies! Have you seen the Hunger Games movie yet? It was awesome :] go watch it ASAP if you haven't already. I loved it. :] Today I have one of China Glaze's Hunger Games collection polishes, Smoke and Ashes. It's a great polish, almost a one coater. It's a murky almost-black base with multichrome shimmer in it, that goes from green to blue to silver. Here's two coats with some Seche.

What do you think? Do you like it? Did you like the movie? Let me know, thanks for reading! :]

Revlon Royal Swatches and Review

Hey girlies! Today I have Revlon Royal to show you... I'm not sure why I waited so long to get this polish... And then when I was going to actually get it, I read some horror stories that just turned me off of this polish... But then I caved and ordered it, crossing my fingers that I would get a good bottle...and I did! This is an amazing royal blue jelly polish. Perfect formula, perfect finish. Here are some pictures and I'll talk more about the polish after.

Look at how it changes depending on the lighting omg it's gorgeous. This was two smooth buttery coats with a coat of topcoat, I can't remember which one. This is seriously a great polish and I got compliments and everything (no one ever notices my nails so if even one person says something then I know they look good hehe). It wore pretty good too. My only complaint is that it smells...weird. I'm not sure why but it smells...funky. Kinda like skunk spray? The smell goes away after it's dried but I found that weird. Besides that, this is an amazing polish and I'm so glad to have it. I love love love it and I can see myself using it over and over, despite the hundreds of other polishes I have to choose from. That, my friends, is love. Haha.

What do you think? Do you have it? Do you love it? Let me know, thanks for reading! :)

Revlon Whimsical and China Glaze Kinetic Candy Swatches

Hey girls :) so today I have a polish that I've wanted for a LONG time: Revlon Whimsical. I cannot tell you how many times I stalked local (and not so local...) K-Marts and Bed, Bath and Beyonds looking for this polish. I finally found it...on Ulta.com. They were having a sale on Revlon, buy two get one, so I picked up three colors: Whimsical, Cloud, and Royal.

I decided to layer Whimsical over China Glaze Kinetic Candy, which I had also recently purchased. Here's a swatch of Kinetic Candy alone:

My pictures make this look more dusty than it actually is. It does have a dusty quality to it, but it's mostly a bright baby blue creme. The color, I love. The formula? Two painted thumbs down! I know it's a pastel but like I've said before, I have patience for pastels...this was so frustrating. I had to start over...twice. Third time's the charm I guess... What you see is 3 coats...two regular coats and one thick one to try to cover the bald spots that were there... I will be wearing this again but when I have more patience...

Anyways, here it is with two coats of Whimsical:

I'm sure you all know what Whimsical looks like. Sheer dusty blue base, large pink and blue hex glitter, itty bitty blue and silver glitters, dupe of Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air. It's pretty but not as pretty as I thought it would be... Eh, it's whatever, I just expected more from a polish that I hunted down for months.

This manicure chipped the very next day. I'm sure it was the 7 combined coats. I saw the chips as soon as I got to the school I was observing and thank God it was a boring day, I chipped the rest of the nails off and then another one. It was so...easy to do. I'm gonna have to try these polishes separately because this combination clearly wasn't best.

What do you think? Do you own either of the two? Do you like them? Let me know, thanks for reading! :)

I'm back! St. Paddy's Day Mani.

Hey girlies! Sorry for my absence, I lost my SD card! I had to use my camera's internal memory until I found it to take pictures and luckily for me, I found my SD card just when I needed it most! :) I'm going to show you my most recent manicure first because if not, it'll be too late when I show you. For St. Paddy's Day, I went with a very obvious choice, China Glaze Four Leaf Clover. I love this polish, it's wonderful and pretty and the formula's great. I did want to spice it up a bit, and Mr. ATTP suggested gold glitter... something like small and hex glitters in gold... I didn't have that but I did have a gold flakie, so I topped accent nails with Essie As Gold As It Gets. I did my ring finger and thumb on my left hand and my pinky and pointer on my right as accent nails. Here's your swatch:

I really like how it came out. I didn't have time for nail art but I think they still looked great. :) Here's a picture with the handmade earrings I wore:

I know it looks black, but the clover is green. :)

What do you think? Do you like this combo? What was your St. Paddy's Day like? Let me know, thanks for reading! :D

Orly Jealous, Much? Swatches.

Hey girly girls. Today one of my classes was canceled, so I took a trip to Sally's before heading over to pick up my boyfriend and I scored some goodies! Two of the polishes from the China Glaze Electropop collection (the two I was most excited about were 2 of the 3 that were left!) on sale for 2 for $10, the 3 colors that I wanted from the China Glaze Colours from the Capitol collection, and today's star, Orly Jealous, Much? of the Spring 2012 Cool Romance collection. This is the only polish of that collection that I really wanted, because I can't get enough pastel greens and mints. Here's a bottle shot:

In the bottle, it looks like a nice dusty yet bright light mint green. It's so pretty. On the nail, the look kind of changes. That's probably due to my skin tone though. Here's some pictures:

On the nail, this color reminds me of jade. Especially after the first coat. Here's a little story about the formula. I get the polish, put down my base coat, do a thin layer, and it's really streaky. I don't think much of it, let it dry for 2 minutes, then go to apply the second coat and got really bad drag, so I took it off and started over... the second time, the formula was thicker! I'm not sure if it's because I left it open (not with the cap off, but the cap wasn't screwed on, if that makes sense) or what, but it was thicker, thus giving me better coverage. What you see above is two coats with Seche.

Overall, I love this color. The color is awesome and the formula, after that weird instance, is good too. I also like that, like all Orlys, it's .6 oz as opposed to .5 which means more polish for me! I love it.

Now for a short commercial break:
OH MY GOD YOU GUISE DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE OPI SPIDERMAN COLLECTION?!?! THERE'S A PERIDOT DUPE IN IT, CALLED JUST SPOTTED THE LIZARD!! HOLY GUACAMOLE AM I EXCITED O.O

What do you think? Do you like it? Did you hear about the OPI Spiderman Collection? Let me know, thanks for reading! :D

Zoya Ki Swatches

Hey girlies! So yesterday I had on China Glaze's Orange-Pacific, one of my all time favorite polishes. Reason being it was my one year anniversary with my boyfriend and his favorite color is orange, so why not wear my favorite person's favorite (nail) color, which happens to be one of my favorites? Confusing, I know, but it made sense to me! I'll post swatches of that tomorrow because now I'm super excited about this color! I got it in Zoya's last big promotion, the two free Zoyas promotion. I love love love this color, omg. Here's a bottle shot of the lovely Zoya Ki.

Look at all the colors in there omfg! I love it. I can't get over how gorgeous this is. I layered two coats of this liquid beauty over one coat of Finger Paints Black Expressionism, the best black creme polish ever made ever in the history of black nail polishes. Here are your swatches, please disregard the different qualities of the pictures but I had to do what I could to get the color shift to show up. Also, disregard the cuticle oil. I was too impatient and excited. Here you go:

The formula on this was awesome, as all Zoyas are because Zoya kicks ass. It is pretty sheer on it's own, and a lot lighter because of that. If you want to get bottle color (and the most color shift), you're gonna wanna layer it over a dark purple or black. The purple to green shift in this is amazing. I can't stop looking at my fingers. I don't know why I waited so long to try this polish out. I'm so glad I finally did though. The best part of this polish was that it was FREE! Next time Zoya has a promotion, GET THIS POLISH!! trust me, it's awesome. Beyond awesome. I loooooooooove this.

What do you think? Do you have this? Do you love it? If not, please send it over to me ;) haha let me know, thanks for reading! :D
