Revlon Perplex + One of My Biggest Pet Peeves

Hey gals! Today I have a fall color from last year that was VERY popular but that I didn't get my hands on until recently. I'm talking about that dark, taupe-y, mushroomy color with a purple shimmer only visible in direct lighting. AKA, Chanel Paradoxal. Of course, being the trendsetters that they are, a lot of dupes of this color were made, one of the most popular being Revlon Perplex. I absolutely love that Revlon does dupes of high end polishes. Please, Revlon polish gods, make a Peridot dupe! Anyways, on to the swatches. What you see here is two coats topped with Essie Good to Go Top Coat.

It's gorgeous and I'm glad I have it... now on to one of my BIGGEST PET PEEVES EVER... messy cuticles. If you're going to go through the trouble of doing your nails with a gorgeous color or even do amazing nail art...why leave it unfinished? It's almost as if you don't care about your hard work... it doesn't take very long to do, and the results are amazing. Here, I've taken a before and after shot to show what I mean:

You don't have to spend forever on it to make it perfect, but at least smooth out the edges... I mean, do your polish and hard work some justice! Okay, my rant is over.

Thanks for reading! Happy polishing! :)

  3. I hate seeing blogs that don't do cleanup. And then they apologize for it! Was too busy etc-well then don't take pictures until you have time to do the cleanup! It's just sloppy to me! Love this color!

  4. At first when you said messy cuticles (before I looked at the pictures) I thought you ment the dead skin that comes off on the sides and I was gonna say.. I can't help it! LOL. But I agree. There have been a few blogs that people do this on. It's very annoying lol.

  5. I hear ya on the clean up. While I may not always do an excellent clean up job depending on the time, I always make sure it's not on my skin or cuticles to the max. My sister will just load polish on all over her skin and then pick it off in the shower. It always ends up chipping somewhere. It's such a waste of polish! Grr :)

  6. @ Lynn- Thank you! :D

@ Pinupcherrymakeup- I just use an old eyeliner brush (that I'm no longer using for eyeliner), dip it in acetone, and go around the cuticle so that I get a clean line. It doesn't take much time if you're careful in application of the polish, and it makes a world of difference. :)

    @ Fingers- I totally agree!

@ OliviasNailArt- Aw, I'm sorry for the initial misunderstanding, lol. And I agree, it is really annoying.

@ Peace, Love and Polish- My sister does the same thing! She globs the polish on and it looks sooooo sloppy!
